The EUREA feasibility project aims to determine the best conditions of implementation, commercial operating and perpetuation of a European cross-border mutualisation system of academic e-resources of the highest quality.

Nine of the twelve European Universities, members of the League of European Research Universities, LERU, with the highest performances in research will join their efforts to pool and enhance their high quality digital resources, by gathering them into extensive interoperable and multilingual European multimedia databases, and by developing tools and services to promote and exploit theses resources.

Besides the elaboration of mature technical and managerial models, the partnership will focus on defining the conditions of enlargement of the partnership to other European universities. The partners will also develop the business dimension of the project, essential to its perpetuation:

• they will investigate all the possible ways of commercial operating of their planed mutualisation system;
• they will search private partners to support and consolidate this business dimension;
• finally, they will realize a market analysis, and will elaborate a mature business model.
